Just a two hour ride by ferry or a short flight from Oban (known as the Gateway to the Isles) is the majestic Isle of Colonsay, measuring just 9km long by 3.5km wide, playing host to activities ranging from lobster fishing to oyster farming. There is plenty to see and do here; take in a music festival, try your hand at 18 holes on a 200 year old links golf course or catch a wave at the award winning Kiloran Bay on the north west coast. There are many beaches to choose from, each one with its own unique identity offering everything from rock pools to sea shells scattered on pure white sand; you’ll even spot the odd seal frolicking in the shallows. The beaches are very popular with families, surfers and walkers with many backed by dunes hosting an abundance of wildlife.
Getting there is easy, choosing somewhere to stay is an absolute pleasure with a great selection of self-catering accommodation on the Isle of Colonsay available to rent. Here we have listed a collection of sea view cottages that sleep from four to fourteen guests, so ideal for everything from couples on romantic escapes to families with children and of course large groups or two families sharing. Most of the Isle of Colonsay cottages listed are fitted with dishwashers, washing machines and microwaves (please check the property description and features) and all of these holiday cottages are pet friendly.
