Downderry Beach

This rustic beach retains all of its original charm and is nestled into the cliffs of one of the most picturesque bays in Cornwall. Its surroundings are natural with peaceful views over Looe Island and the headlands. It has a mix of sand and shingle with rock pools when the tide ebbs away. Surfers particularly enjoy the two reefs on either side of the beach, while snorkelers are allured by the sunken twin of the  'Cutty Sark' named 'Gypsy'.

There is a great pub facing the beach and a cafe, restaurant and shops in the village a short walk away. Parking and toilets (including disabled facilities) are also in the village and there is disabled access to the West side of the beach. Dogs are welcome all year.
