Kessingland Beach is an enormous un-spoilt sand and shingle beach with tonnes of marram grass dunes that border with a nature reserve. Families renting beach cottages love the wild nature of this beach, as do the tourists but it never feels crowded thanks to its sheer size. You are more likely to bump into migrating sea birds or the odd basking seal than a fellow beach bum.
There is plenty of space for kite surfers and windsurfers, who practice here daily. And there is a pretty impressive cafe/restaurant and a gastro pub that overlooks the sea and the public toilets (including disabled facilities) are nearby. The car park is a short walk away in the village so best to drop of your beach gear before parking. Dogs are banned on the beach in the summer between May and September.
