There is a magnificent stretch of pale fine sand that starts at St Georges Cove, which at low tide links up with the enormous beaches of Harbour Cove and Hawkers Cove. Caution should be taken with the estuary currents, especially given there is no Lifeguard on patrol here.
Parking, toilets, cafes, restaurants and shops can be found in Padstow, a ten minute walk away, but there are no facilities on the beach. Affordable accommodation is plentiful plus there are a number of luxury beach houses for rent. Dogs are banned at St Georges Cove during the summer but allowed to exercise on a lead at Harbour Cove and Hawkers Cove.
