Ireland is a seafaring nation with a breath-taking coastline that makes the ideal setting for a magical holiday by the sea. Whether you want to spend your holidays swimming, sunbathing, strolling or simply indulging your senses, the natural beauty of Ireland's beaches and wild coastal landscapes are second to none. To add to this bevy of beach heaven there are picturesque fishing villages, historic ports and romantic castles to explore and the Irish fun loving temperament and love for music is nothing but contagious and intoxicating. County Donegal on the north coast is a favourite with surfers and families, the beach is gorgeous and the local fair ground, water park and atmospheric bars, clubs and restaurants make it fun for the whole family. County Galway also offers some magnificent bays to visit and the surrounding towns and villages exude a warm welcoming aura. Clifden is a perfect example of a well preserved but vibrant little coastal town that is perfectly located to explore the surrounding coastline as well as the Connemara National Park.
Ireland is a popular destination for holidaymakers travelling with pets so we have included a great selection of pet friendly cottages to rent, many with enclosed gardens just a short walk to the nearest sandy beach. If you’re a fan of legend and history then County Kerry in the south west won't disappoint as it hides some amazing beaches framed by mountains mixed in with medieval castles and historic sites amongst the rolling hills around the Dingle Peninsula. Pretty towns like Kenmare, which has a great spa and Killorglin are just some of the destinations on offer here. County Cork is a haven for artists who try to capture its wild, rugged shores, rural fishing villages and great sweeping bays and being in the south it also has a milder climate and enjoys the warm Gulf Stream. Places like Kinsale, famous for its cuisine, Bantry with its infamous harbours and Skull are also quite popular and unspoilt with the paradise island of Cape Clear just off the coast boasting a better climate than the mainland.
In South East Ireland in Waterford County there are more fabulous beaches, one in particular, Tramore, is a popular destination which is spectacularly set-up for holiday making families, with attractions and sports facilities that will entice all ages, including a funfair, a water park, a fabulous surfing beach, horse riding and golf. Dungarvan Bay is also worth a visit, as is the whole of Wexford County, especially Bannow and Kilmore Quay. Getting to Ireland is easy, deciding where to stay is undoubtedly the hardest choice to make. To help we’ve put together a varied selection of holiday cottages in Ireland on or near the beachfront ranging from small seaside cottages for couples with sea views, medium sized child friendly cottages ideal for families and of course the large cottages that sleep 8 or more, perfect for group accommodation in Ireland. Securing your holiday rental is easy; just book with the property manager or owner direct, a sure way to receive great advice, the best price and a top class service.
