Aberaeron bolthole

This quaint cottage in colourful Aberaeron sleeps four and is the perfect bolthole for one or two couples or a small family looking for a break but with things to do right on the doorstep. The Georgian town has a craft centre, art galleries, independent shops plus parks and access to the Wales Coast Path for energising coastal walks and nature spotting. First stop, the shingle beach which is less than 0.5 miles away. A sandy option can be found 7 miles away at New Quay, another vibrant seaside town. Or take a boat trip out across Cardigan Bay to see if you can add an extra touch of magic to your holidays by spotting dolphins.

Attention to detail could be the byline for this house. It would be a challenge to find anything missing in this beautifully stylish property. The spacious living/dining room is very bright, light and airy and offers cosy elements with the wood burner and corner L-shaped sofa bed, there’s a table and chairs for eating and vibrant textiles, plants and pops of colour to break up the white interior. The contemporary kitchen has a small bar table for two and a groovy tiled floor. Upstairs, toss a coin between the fabulous and spacious bedrooms – a king-size and double bedroom. Both boast Smart TVs but the former has an extra bonus window seat.

There’s plenty more outdoors – some might say it’s leaving the best to last? Directly outside, there’s a small lawned garden with gravel paths, some bench seating and plants. Beyond that, an enclosed, covered rustic wooden structure with pot plants and see-through perspex roof houses the al fresco kitchen with wood-fired oven and double BBQ. Maybe you can have an aperitif and talk to the chef from the hot tub while they get dinner prepped.
