Further afield, Garn Fawr (7 miles) provides an afternoon of rambling over a rocky volcanic outcrop with many fascinating artefacts to see, including a lighthouse and a building considered a medieval hermit’s cell. Days with your buckets and spades are easy to come by too, with Dinas Dinlle, Traeth Nefyn, Llanfairfechan Beach and Black Rock Sands (all within 18 miles).
