Fowey harbour cottage sleeps 8

Save

A harbourside cottage that sleeps 8 in Fowey, close to Fowey’s little lanes of multicoloured cottages, cool shops and eateries. Fowey draws people who love to hike the South West Coast Path or take advantage of the water activities available locally. Families love the beach at Readymoney Cove – there really is something for everyone here.

Located on the elegant esplanade in an elevated position overlooking the River Fowey is this spacious home set across three levels. From the street, a series of steps and a sloping front path brings you to the first decked area and the main entrance door. Enter a bright and airy space with an open and inviting feel, and you’ll be drawn to throw open the French doors and let the fresh seaside air in. There’s a large dining table with room for all to gather for extended mealtimes or family games and two tub chairs perfectly positioned to allow for sitting and soaking up the maritime scene ahead. The kitchen is set to the rear and is extremely well-equipped with all appliances needed to allow for a comfortable stay. The first of the four bedrooms is found on this level and provides a double bed, plenty of clothes storage and an en-suite shower room. Moving upstairs, you enter a bright lounge with plenty of soft seating for gathering around the Smart TV for movie nights. The second double bedroom and bunk room are also located on this level along with the main family bathroom. French doors from the double room lead to the rear deck. The rear deck can also be accessed externally via the side of the property. On the second floor, and with the best outlook, is the king-size bedroom with a large picture window providing extensive views across the river to Polruan, out to sea, and St Catherine’s Castle in the distance. Two wicker chairs are the perfect spot to dwell with a good book. This room is lovely and private with its own en-suite shower room. There are some areas of limited head height due to its position under the eaves, but it’s a large room with fabulous views and a dedicated TV for lazy lie-ins.

Embrace the coastal setting as you seamlessly extend your dining experience to the front deck, accompanied by a charming stone BBQ that invites budding chefs to unleash their creativity. Once dinner is complete, retreat to the tranquil privacy of the walled rear garden where a soothing hot tub awaits, allowing you to unwind and contemplate your plans for the following day.
