The South West Coast Path runs along the river through Helford so there are many walking trails along the Helford River to nearby attractions such as Frenchman’s Creek (3 miles), made famous by the writer Daphne Du Maurier. It is a short drive to the beautiful Cornish coastline with Pendennis Point (20 miles), Trebah Garden and Trebah Beach (14 miles) and Gunwalloe Church Cove Beach (9 miles) all well worth a visit. Otherwise, you can explore the Cornish Seal Sanctuary (8.5 miles) or learn about the local history at the Poldark Mine and The Cornish Heritage Collection (13.5 miles).
