This idyllic cottage sleeps 8 guests in Llanbedrog and has everything you’ll need for a seaside getaway with the family. Set on a private lane in the picturesque coastal village of Llanbedrog in the Llyn Peninsula Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the house is 200m from the beach – a mile-long stretch of sand adorned with colourful beach huts – and less than half a mile from a variety of pubs and places to eat. Worth a visit is the village’s Plas Glyn-y-Weddw arts centre, housed in a Gothic mansion with an excellent tea room and craft shop, and you may also want to explore the networks of paths lined by pine trees and heather on Llanbedrog headland. Just 3 miles away is the popular seaside resort of Abersoch, in which you will find an array of shops, cafes, restaurants and bars, and the sheltered main beach where you can learn to sail or powerboat, or hire a dinghy, kayak or pedalo. For something different, 9 miles away is Glasfryn Parc, North Wales’ premier activity centre, for indoor and outdoor fun.

Most of the accommodation in this welcoming property is on the ground floor. The cosy lounge/diner has sofas and armchairs gathered around the TV and wood burner, and an extendable dining table that looks onto the lovely garden. The kitchen has lots of cupboard space and a large window overlooking the garden, while there are three smart bedrooms: a super-king-size (or twin, if you prefer), a double (with one side of the bed against the wall) and a twin. Two shower rooms, one spacious and one compact, are also on this floor. On the first floor, the landing is home to a snug TV area with a DVD player and a Wii – a great place for children to gather – that leads through to a family room with a double and single bed and stunning sea views.

There are large, enclosed, lawned gardens at both the front and back of the cottage, as well as a veranda at the front, where there is a bench on which you can sit and enjoy beautiful views of Llanbedrog headland. In the rear garden, a patio area has outdoor furniture and a charcoal BBQ – so the family can get together on warmer evenings and cook and eat in the fresh air.
