Wake-up in this Llanbedrog beach house that sleeps 6 with unrivalled sea views and idyllic setting on the golden sands of a National Trust beach are just a few steps away. Sleeping six guests, it offers a wonderful and relaxing holiday home for families or a group of friends. Enjoy a refreshing morning swim in the crystal -clear waters of this sheltered 1 mile stretch of sand, then have a reviving drink or breakfast at the popular beach bar and restaurant. Llanbedrog has been popular with families since Victorian times, when brightly coloured beach huts lined the sand, a tradition that continues today. A short stroll (160 metres) brings you to Plas Glyn y Weddw, Wales’s oldest art gallery. This beautiful stone building also houses a cafe and shop, with woodland, gardens and a lively calendar of events. Be sure to see the historic little church of St Pedrog nearby, named after St Petroc, a 6th-century saint, and set in a wooded valley where a stream runs down to the beach. Walk up through woodland to the Myndd Tir Cwmwd headland (3 miles), where the famous Tin Man metal sculpture stands sentinel, to be rewarded with panoramic views of the Llyn Peninsula and Cardigan Bay. An information panel identifies the range of mountain summits in the distance. For boat and fishing trips around the bay, head for the lively market town of Pwllheli (6 miles).

This spacious lower ground-floor cottage is part of an historic building which used to be an old boathouse – the two floors above have also been converted into stylish holiday lets that can also be booked for larger parties. As you enter this cottage, you’ll find an impressive and very stylish open-plan living/kitchen area, with fabulous views throughout from three, huge arched windows-a reminder of the building’s former life as a boathouse. Drink in the spectacular outlook while relaxing on the large, comfortable sofa and two luxurious easy chairs. This space, with wooden flooring throughout, also houses a TV and quirky coffee table. You can continue to enjoy sight and sound of the sea while cooking in the high-gloss white kitchen, which has a handy breakfast bar with two colourful stools. An elegant dining table with leather and chrome chairs seats six guests for more formal meals. There are three tastefully furnished bedrooms: a twin and two doubles. Both double bedrooms have beautiful views and doors opening to the outside terrace, while one has an en-suite and TV. A sumptuous family bathroom has a bath and separate shower cubicle.

Doors from the living toom lead to an enclosed, full-length terrace with a patio and outside dining furniture. Here, guests can enjoy spectacular views of the sea against a backdrop of distant mountains.
