A fabulous coastal cottage near the beach that sleeps 8 in Shaldon, near Teignmouth, close enough to the Riviera attractions without suffering the tourist throngs. Shaldon offers plenty of lovely shops and eateries, a zoo and a slower pace than its touristy neighbours. You’re only a few hundred metres from the beaches, including Ness Cove Beach, which is accessed via a secret smuggler’s tunnel. You can also catch a small ferry across to bustling Teignmouth (1.5 miles) with its variety of activities, including water sports. Keen walkers can join the South West Coast Path that runs through the village, or you can venture further afield to Paignton Zoo or Torquay (within 13 miles).

Cool tones make this home feel bright and airy, with plenty of space for everyone to relax comfortably.
