Located on the impressive Jurassic Coast and surrounded by spectacular countryside, Sidmouth is a lively seaside town with Regency-era elegance and a host of family-friendly holiday attractions. The town has many royal connections – its beautiful Connaught Gardens were named for Queen Victoria’s son – and is home to a range of big-brand and independent stores, eateries to satisfy every appetite, and many festivals and markets throughout the year. The South West Coast Path connects Sidmouth to other Lyme Bay hot spots, but if you’d prefer to explore by car, Lyme Regis is just over 16 miles to the east while, 11 miles to the west, you’ll find Exmouth, thought to be Devon’s oldest holiday resort.

Ideal for a family or group of friends who want to be at the hub of all the holiday action, this pretty mid-terrace property is close to the charming Esplanade and where the River Sid meets the sea. Two steps lead to the front entrance, and then you’re into an open-plan living room with a bay window and lounge area at one end, and a dining area with a window onto the rear garden at the other. Comfortable sofas, a TV and an electric fire suggest cosy nights at home, while in the kitchen aspiring chefs will find everything that’s required to cook up a tasty treat, plus a dishwasher to take care of the after-dinner clean-up. There’s a washing machine here, while a handy spin-dryer can be found in the ground floor cloakroom close by. On the first floor, you’ll find a light, bright bathroom, a separate cloakroom and two bedrooms, each with a vanity unit and feature fireplace. One room has a double bed and sea views, while the other has twin beds; a winding staircase leads up to the second floor where another double bedroom with a vanity unit and sea views from its dormer window await.

A shared terrace entrance gate leads to a small garden area at the front of the property where pretty planting and a bench give guests somewhere to sit and watch the world go by – there’s a play park and grassy riverside recreation area within 10 metres where children can let off steam! An enclosed courtyard garden at the rear of the property offers more privacy and comes complete with furniture so you can enjoy fresh air, food and drinks outdoors.
