A classic coastal holiday house in Staithes that sleeps 4. This delightful family and dog-friendly property nestles in the bustling fishing village of Staithes on the stunning North Yorkshire coast. With its charming cottages and cosy cafes, this village has long attracted artists inspired by the quaint fishermen’s homes and the picturesque harbour. The renowned artist Laura Johnson, later Dame Laura Knight, lived in this very property at the turn of the last century. Visitors of all ages will delight in exploring the sandy beach and rock pools. For an enjoyable meal, consider the “Cod and Lobster” pub or the waterfront café only a hundred yards from your front door, offering delectable fish and chips. Venture a bit further to Whitby and you can visit its historic Abbey with its connection to Count Dracula or enjoy a wide selection of shops , bars and restaurants. For avid walkers and cyclists , the North York Moors National Park is on the doorstep.

Upon entering, you’ll be charmed by the many original features . The comfortable lounge, with its cosy wood burner, is perfect for curling up and enjoying your favourite show on the TV or planning the next day’s adventures. The kitchen, equipped with all modern facilities, includes a dining table and chairs and also boasts an original cast-iron oven (not in use). On the first floor, you’ll find a double bedroom and a large family bathroom, complete with an original ornamental fireplace. The second floor houses another double bedroom.

At the rear of the property, there is a small courtyard with seating, as well as a separate utility/outbuilding equipped with a washer/dryer and WC. Very close to the property are several grassy spots with benches which offer wonderful views of the sea, almost the same as those Captain James Cook enjoyed during his time working as an apprentice in the village grocer’s shop.
