The town is best known for its family friendly beaches, the main beach is a long sandy stretch that is perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and water sports. Walk along the 1.8 mile long promenade savouring the views. Enjoy fish & chips and Devonshire cream tea in the towns wide variety of restaurants, pubs and cafes. There is also a quieter river beach, where you can catch the small passenger ferry across to the attractive unspoilt village of Shaldon, with its fishing harbour, zoo and Smugglers’ Tunnel.

On top of this, Teignmouth boasts a grand pier, historic lighthouse, heritage museum, local parks, farmers market, cinema and small theatre. Lots to see and do. From Teignmouth you can walk sections of the South West coastal path, jump on the train to the cathedral city of Exeter, go further south to enjoy the English Riveria or explore Dartmoor National Park which is only 15 miles inland and includes a number of National Trust properties.
