South Beach is a family favourite for its sloping sands and calm waters, ideal for water sports, while keen walkers can take the coast path to neighbouring Saundersfoot (4.5 miles). Catch a boat from the harbour to Caldey Island, home to a monastery, where you can explore the island’s unspoiled landscape and buy the monks’ hand-made toiletries.
