Wells-next-the-Sea beach retreat that sleeps 8. An attractive coastal cottage with beamed ceilings and gorgeous fireplaces, this period property is ideal for a family stay. Sleeping six adults and two children, the four-bedroom abode could suit an extended family or two families together. Set approximately 300 metres from the bustling hub of Wells-next-the-Sea, with its myriad shops and eateries, the cottage is also about the same distance from the harbour and quay, a popular place for crabbing. With the town’s sandy beach a walk or drive of just over 1 mile away and the Norfolk Coast Path running through the town, there is also plenty to occupy those eager to spend time by the sea. Also visit Holkham Hall, 2 miles away, while you are here, an 18th-century estate rich in wildlife and history.

Step into the cottage and head through the lobby and into the generous, beamed lounge. Light the wood burner in the beautiful inglenook fireplace in here on chilly evenings then settle down in front of the Smart TV. Make your way into the kitchen/diner when it’s time to prepare a meal for your party. You have ample space and plenty of equipment in this welcoming room, which features a decorative old bread oven. When dinner is ready, call everyone through for jolly meals around the table. There is also a WC at this level. Venture up to the first floor to find the family bathroom, which has a large walk-in shower, as well as a double bedroom, a twin and a room with a three-quarter-size child’s bed and a toddler’s bed. Another double bedroom can be found up steep, narrow, cottage-style stairs on the second floor of the cottage. This charming room has sloping ceilings and a walk-in cupboard with a handbasin.

Sit outside in the courtyard garden whenever the weather is fine. Enjoy a glass of wine at the table out here as the day draws to a close.
