Perfect for families and friends sharing, a detached house on Whitby’s West Cliff sleeps five, has a large, enclosed garden, ample private parking and is less than a mile from the centre of this historic former fishing village, with a regular bus service and stop within 50 metres. A beautiful beach, good selection of neighbourhood shops and friendly pub are within 0.25 miles, as is Whitby golf course.

The picturesque town is famous for its beautiful beaches, dramatic 13th -century Abbey and association with the great navigator and explorer Captain Cook. Get a taste of life at sea on a replica of his ship, the HMS Endeavour or take the heritage steam train to admire wonderful views through the North York Moors National Park. Or have a bracing walk along the clifftop trail to the pretty fishing village of Sandsend (2 miles) or Robin Hood’s Bay (7 miles).

The ground floor comprises an entrance vestibule with storage, a large lounge with comfortable seating, TV and a pebble flame-effect electric fire. A roomy open-plan dining room/kitchen has a dining table with chairs, breakfast bar and stools. Doors open on to the garden and patio and a reading corner close to the contemporary wood burner adds a welcoming note. A wet room has a large walk-in waterfall shower, and a cloakroom houses a downstairs WC. Upstairs, is a single bedroom, two king-size bedrooms, one with a sea view and one with TV, and a bathroom with bath and WC.
