A quaint coastal cottage in Whitstable that sleeps 6, close to the sea shore. Bring the family to the heart of Whitstable for a seaside break in what was once the town’s sweet shop. The working harbour is 320 metres from your front door, with a fish market, takeaway stalls, boat trips to the iconic sea forts and wind farms, and water sports hire during the summer months. The town centre is at the end of the road, with a castle and a web of old alleyways to explore — and the vibrant music and arts scene mean that there is always something happening year-round. Beaches can be found right along the coastline; Tankerton, West and Whitstable Beaches are all under a mile. Further afield is the historic city of Canterbury with its medieval cathedral (7.5 miles), and Faversham with its romantic creek and bustling market (8.5 miles).

Step through the front door into the bright lounge; this space has wooden floors, a wood burner and Scandi-style sofas. The dining room boasts an ornamental fireplace and pretty vintage furniture, with a door onto the patio garden and open access to the country-chic galley kitchen. Also on the ground floor is a bathroom with a bath and walk-in shower. Up the steep cottage stairs, you’ll find two king-size bedrooms, with a third twin bedroom located on the second floor.

A patio garden to the rear has dining furniture for sunny al fresco meals together, a wooden bench and a charcoal BBQ. The garden is enclosed by fencing, painted to reflect the colours of the sea and sky.
