The narrow, cobbled streets are lined with picturesque pastel-coloured buildings as well as an array of traditional pubs, seafood cafes and high-end restaurants to enjoy. It also has a thriving cultural heritage with several interesting galleries and live music venues. Alternatively, enjoy an afternoon tea or simply wander around the lovely gardens of Whitstable Castle. For a day inland take the easy 7-mile drive or hop on one of the regular buses and head to the historic city of Canterbury and see its medieval architecture including one of Britain’s oldest cathedrals.
